Tow Truck Driver Hit, Killed Helping Motorist On I-95 In Maryland: State Police

One person was killed crashing into a tow truck in Prince George's County on I-95 on Thursday afternoon, state police say.

At approximately 12:10 p.m. on Thursday, troopers in College Park were called to the northbound lanes of I-95 at Powder Mill Road, where there was a reported multi-vehicle crash.

Police say that a tow truck driver stoped to assist another motorist, and while doing so, another driver sideswiped the vehicle.

The tow truck driver was struck and declared dead at the scene by first responders. No other injuries were reported.

Following the crash, I-95 was closed at Powder Mill Road while state police investigated. No information about the tow truck driver was released by investigators.
